Star Trek Lower Decks: Every Easter Egg & Hidden Reference From 'Second Contact'

When Tendi is introduced to Boimler and Mariner, Boimler is repairing a food replicator that's stuck on "banana, hot", an obvious reference to Captain Picard's famous "tea, Earl Grey, hot". The busted replicator has several isolinear chips hanging out of it; these are standard issue aboard Federation starships in the TNG-era, but the angular chips seen here were (appropriately) only used as of Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek Nemesis.

Mariner is (for some reason) firing a type-2 phaser from Star Trek: First Contact, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager at her own hand... which is odd for a couple reasons, including that it's an outdated design at this point in the timeline, having been replaced in Star Trek Nemesis by what fans dubbed the "dolphin" phaser.

Boimler's engineering tools (and Rutherford's later) are straight out of Geordi LaForge, Chief O'Brien, and B'Elanna Torres' various engineering toolkits and Tendi, Boimler, Mariner and several other characters are seen toting Starfleet duffle bags which first appeared in TNG's "11001001” and "The Game".
