Star Trek: Picard: Analyzing All The Ships From Season One

13. Wallenberg-class Tugs

The Starfleet tugs that appear in "Maps and Legends" are the first new 24th century Federation starships to appear in the franchise since the Star Trek: The Next Generation films. These ships feature components similar to the USS Enterprise-E from the TNG films, with similar warp and impulse engines, but are distinguished by arrow-shaped primary hulls instead of the familiar saucer.

Appearing in orbit of Mars, these ships are part of the rescue armada intended to evacuate the citizens of the Romulan Empire, but were apparently destroyed by the synths during their attack on Mars on First Contact Day, 2385.

In "Absolute Candor", former Romulan senator Adrev describes these tugs as Wallenberg-class transports, apparently named for Raoul Wallenberg who famously saved thousands of Jews from the Nazis in 1944.
