Star Trek Voyager Cast: Where Are They Now?

7. Garrett Wang

Harry Kim
CBS

Harry Kim, Star Trek's eternal ensign, was played by Garrett Wang for the entirety of the show's run and it was not smooth sailing throughout. He was the first actor on any Star Trek series to have his request to direct turned out and, during the show's hiatus between seasons three and four, was heavily rumoured to be written out.

However, at that same time, he was named in People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People list, bumping his reputation up slightly (to Jennifer Lien's cost). He remained with the show, though continued to harbour resentment toward producer Rick Berman, going so far as to claim the man deserved to go to hell.

Since Star Trek, he has appeared in several smaller parts throughout the years. He appeared in the western series Into the West in a recurring role. He followed this up appearing in Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, directed by Tim Russ. He also then appeared in a Rage Against The Machine music video.

Most recently, he has started a podcast with co-star Robert Duncan McNeill, titled The Delta Flyers. He is active on the convention circuit and a widely shared clip exists of him discussing the tensions that had existed on set during filming. Of all of the main actors on Voyager, Wang seems to have had the most investment in the series and perhaps received the second shortest straw. However, in this age of new series, who is to say what's in store for Starfleet's longest serving ensign!
