Star Wars: The Complete History Of The Darksaber

Like Sabine, Bo-Katan was resistant to accepting the Darksaber. Though she valued the old ways of Mandalore and had fought alongside Vizsla and the Death Watch to restore it, she was the sister of the late Duchess Satine and knew that she was not the ruler her sister had been.

Since her introduction, Bo-Katan had been fighting for Mandalore, but she had been unable to protect her mentor, Pre Vizsla from falling to Maul’s blade; she had failed to protect her sister from Maul’s tyranny, and she then lost Mandalore to the Empire right after taking it back from Maul. She had been unable to protect the ones she cared for, and with that failure dogging her, feared she could be the leader that Mandalore needed.

However, after the Mandalorian clans all pledged their loyalty to stand besides Clan Kryze, Bo-Katan took up the mantle of the Darksaber to lead their people against the Empire once more.

Little is currently known about what happened between this period and the end of the Empire, but given the hype around The Mandalorian, will surely be explored in the near future. But we know that the Darksaber did not stay with Bo-Katan indefinitely.
