Supergirl: 6 Ups And 4 Downs From Episode 2 'Stronger Together'
4. Up - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Ah, what would any hero - super or otherwise - be without a training montage, set to some upbeat music that contains references to power and fighting? You're hardly a hero without it, so thankfully Supergirl gets straight to it in this second episode. Soundtracked by Pat Benatar's Hit Me With Your Best Shot, we have a few brief moments of Kara showing that she can actually help people as Supergirl, intercut with news reports of her heroic exploits, and James and Winn helping with the operation as well (or just hanging out eating pizza and developing the bromance). It's a fun sequence, and one that does its job - establishing Supergirl as a hero within National City - really well. The only reason this could possibly be a down is because that song is going to be stuck in my head a while longer, and being totally honest that's no bad thing.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
