In this modern era of acclaimed superhero film and TV, there is nothing more refreshing than a tribute to the icons that paved the way for it in the first place. Thus, every time Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter, appears on Supergirl as President Olivia Marsdin, it's a moment worth celebrating.

President Marsdin last appeared during the show's second season, where she oversaw the process of aliens gaining the same rights as U.S. citizens before it was revealed that she was actually an alien herself. She recurred throughout the season before making her final appearance in its penultimate episode.

The season premiere brought the character back and, in doing so, once again brought the idea of human and aliens coexisting to the forefront. However, her return has also led to some major developments, as the episode's closing moments revealed that the public now knows she's an alien.

Carter had no problem easing right back into the role and she looked more at home than ever around the Supergirl family. With Marsdin outed as an alien, it appears that the legendary actress may have an even more significant role this season - and that, is without a doubt, a great thing.
