Supernatural: 10 Biggest Fan-Service Moments
4. Family Dinner
For all of its lore, apocalyptic battles and metafictional hijinks, what Supernatural has always been about at its heart, is family. Which is why for the show's 300th episode in Season 14, the writers decided to give the boys and the fans a little gift - a happy Winchester family reunion.
By this point in the show's narrative, the boys' mother Mary had been resurrected, but their father was still long-deceased. Being Supernatural though, it wasn't hard for the writers to pull a plot-device out of thin air that allowed them to bring Daddy Winchester back for one night only.
Yes, it's quickly established that it is only a short-term miracle, but cheesy as it may sound, it's not the quantity of time that matters, but the quality. And the brief time that the four Winchesters get to spend together is of the highest quality. There's a great sense of healing between the boys and their father, as he finally tells them just how proud he is of them, but more importantly, that he loves them. It brings some much needed closure to a relationship that has always been contentious.
Then, before the tearful farewell they get to have something Dean had always dreamed of - a single happy family dinner. It's a beautiful moment as we see the Winchester clan smiling and laughing together at the dinner table, enjoying a rare moment of pure happiness. It's a scene which will live in the hearts of the SPN Family forever.
