The Boys: 10 Goriest Moments So Far

Typically, courtroom scenes in a series are an excellent opportunity to fill the screen with solid acting, powerful discussion and plot development. With that being said, it came as no surprise that The Boys used the idea as the perfect opportunity for a blood bath, and it was spectacular.

During the penultimate episode of the second season, things were looking up for The Boys. Vought was under trial, they had secured a significant witness, and it seemed like the company was truly going down. However, just as Jonah Vogelbaum, the former CFO of Vought, was prepared to make his statement, the Judge's head spontaneously combusted. Soon, people's heads started bursting all over the place, and the courtroom ended up utterly drenched in blood.

While viewers have seen heads explode before, it had never been so realistically realised. The sound of the bursts were so meaty, and the visual splatter of the explosions looked barbaric as they covered a wide splash zone. The VFX artists truly deserve commendation for this scene, as it's believable and gory to the highest degree.

The segment came from absolutely out of nowhere, and the non-stop impact made you thoroughly question who was next and who was behind it.
