The Boys: 10 Insane Details You Definitely Missed

6. The Breaking Bad Shout-Out

The Boys Translucent
Amazon Studios

In the show's second-ever episode, things take a turn for the worst when Hughie blows up Translucent with a bomb Frenchie has placed inside him. The scene is already an iconic part of the show, but it's not until the following episode that we get to see Frenchie and Butcher trying to clean up the mess the explosion caused.

Frenchie and Butcher can be seen literally scooping up and shovelling parts of Translucent and dropping his body into a series of bin bags. If this looks familiar at all, it's because the episode was written by George Mastras, who wrote Breaking Bad's "Crazy Handful of Nothin'" and wanted to pay homage to an early scene in which Walt White and Jesse Pinkman attempt to clean up the melted remains of Emilio.

Grim, sure, but a brilliant shout-out all the same.
