The Boys: 10 Insane Details You Definitely Missed
4. "Love That Accent"
In a flashback near the end of season one, Homelander and Butcher are seen meeting for the first time, whilst the future vigilante was still with Becca. During their encounter, Homelander comments how much he loves Butcher's British accent. The funny thing about this is that both Homelander actor Antony Starr and Butcher star Karl Urban are from New Zealand.
Another thing worth noting about the accents in The Boys comes courtesy of Hughie and his father, who in the comic series are Scottish. Also, Frenchie, despite his name, is actually French-Algerian, and is played by Israeli actor Tomer Kapon.
There are plenty of liberties taken with the source material, but the thing with the accents makes each of the actors' performances all the more impressive in hindsight. Though it should be noted Karl Urban's attempt at a Cockney accent hasn't been universally well received. Oh well - the performance still rules.
