The Boys Season 3: 10 Biggest WTF Moments
1. Ryan Changes Allegiance
After Homelander discovers his son, Ryan, is a Supe, he does everything he can to encourage the boy to accept him. But after Ryan sees his father for what he truly is, he turns against him, and dismembers his partner, Stormfront. Because of Homelander's unforgiving nature, it seemed the pair's relationship was destroyed forever.
Or so we thought. After Homelander tracked him down at his new safe house, the psychotic Supe told Ryan he forgave him. Desperate for guidance, Ryan hugged his demented father and asked to stay with him. Although Homelander's plan to have Soldier Boy join them fell apart, it proved to Ryan that his dad genuinely cared about his family.
But that's not all. In the closing moments of Season 3, Homelander publicly reveals Ryan to the world as his own flesh and blood. When a citizen attacks Ryan, Homelander obliterates the person's skull, causing his fans to burst into rapturous applause. Although Ryan has proven to be fearful of his father's dark side in the past, the final shot depicts Ryan smiling, proving he has succumbed to Homelander's manipulative influence.
Sadly, we all know where this leads. Not only is Ryan looking to become a tyrant like his old man, he'll inevitably be forced to face Butcher - the one man who swore to keep him safe.
