2. Which Jay Is Zoom?
This has been the question driving so much of the plot this year: who is Zoom? While he initially appeared to be a faceless speed demon, recent episodes have seen him unmask with the face of Teddy Sears. But thanks to all of the dimension-hopping, it’s not as simple as just declaring that Zoom is Jay Garrick and leaving it at that.
There’s Hunter Zolomon to consider, who may well be Garrick’s long-lost twin brother. Equally crazy is the possibility of a displaced Jay from the future, much like Reverse-Flash last year. It’s evident that there’s a lot of characters running around with Teddy Sears’s face and it’s not immediately clear which one of them is behind Zoom’s mask.
A satisfying answer to this question, more than any other, is an absolute necessity. After all of this time spent fighting Zoom and labouring over who he could be, his true identity needs a worthy backstory or the whole thing will have felt like wasted time.
