1. The Rise Of Sauron
Even from the earliest announcements behind the new Amazon series, the presence of Sauron was already fairly obvious. Not only is he one of the greatest evils in Middle Earth's history, but he's also the one who used the titular Rings Of Power to corrupt leaders of Middle Earth and take power.
His rise is inevitable, but how much we'll see of it is still in question. We know to expect many major events that lead to the height of Sauron's power, though who plays him is still under wraps. Given his ability to change form and trick others, we might even see Sauron before even knowing it's him.
As powerful as he was in the Lord Of The Rings, that was Sauron without his One Ring, so Sauron with it is a whole other beast. His rein as the Dark Lord Of Mordor cast a shadow over all of the land for many, many years.
Though Sauron would never reach the heights of power his predecessor, Morgoth, reached (since Morgoth controlled Balrogs and Dragons and other world-shattering, godly powers), he was still able to shake Middle Earth to its core.
