The Mandalorian Season 2: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

1. Moff Gideon And The Darksaber

One twist that no one saw coming, Moff Gideon's handling of the Darksaber opens up a mind boggling range of consequences for the next series.

As a recap, the Darksaber is the ancestral weapon of Mandalore, and a weapon strong enough to unite the various Mandalorian clans, having been forged by the first Mandalorian Jedi many centuries ago.

We last saw this weapon in the hands of Bo-Katan, the leader of Clan Kryze and the wider Mandalorian resistance against the Empire. The fact that Gideon has it is now doesn't speak well of her fate, or that of Mandalore itself, though we do know we'll be seeing a live action portrayal from Katee Sackhoff. Whether she's alive and well in the present or suffered a grim fate during the Great Purge is unclear, but it'll still be great to see the character in live action.

Already boasting a weapon this significant, there's little telling what other resources Gideon has at his command. All of which will now be pursuing Mando and The Child.

With this blade in Gideon's hands the confrontation between him and Mando is now more assured than ever, a conflict that can't help but promise to be one absolute hell of a fight.

1. Who Created The Show?

My passion for all things Sci Fi goes back to my earliest days, when old VHS copies of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet gripped my tiny mind with their big, noisy vehicles and terrifying puppets. I'd like to say my taste got more refined over the years, but between the Warhammer, Space Dandy and niche Star Wars EU books, perhaps it just got broader. I've enjoyed games of all calibre since I figured out that dice weren't just for eating, and have written prose ever since I was left unsupervised with some crayons next to a white wall. I got away with it by calling it "schoolwork" for as long as I could, and university helped me keep the charade going a while longer. Since my work began to get published, it's made all those long hours repainting the walls seem worth it.
