The Mandalorian Season 2: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

3. The Imperial Remnant

Our first look at The Client's band of Imperial loyalists gave us exactly what was expected - a small group of fanatics hiding in the galaxy's backwater, armed to the teeth and extremely paranoid. When Moff Gideon showed up - well... that's when things got interesting.

It seems that some remnants of Imperial power still exist in significant strength, even four years after The Battle of Jakku. Whether gathered together in particular regions or spread in isolated fleets and battlegroups, they are certainly powerful enough to dominate small worlds like Nevarro. Beyond the purview of the New Republic, and with even groups like The Hutts broken up, the Outer Rim could be littered with Imperial enclaves.

There's no denying that the Empire is, if not alive, at least having some violent death spasms.

As we see more of the Galaxy it's possible we'll see more of this Imperial Remnant, and not just whatever parts of Moff Gideon's forces are still alive. With the First Order still very far off, there's plenty of Imperial material and manpower for Mando to cut his way through.

My passion for all things Sci Fi goes back to my earliest days, when old VHS copies of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet gripped my tiny mind with their big, noisy vehicles and terrifying puppets. I'd like to say my taste got more refined over the years, but between the Warhammer, Space Dandy and niche Star Wars EU books, perhaps it just got broader. I've enjoyed games of all calibre since I figured out that dice weren't just for eating, and have written prose ever since I was left unsupervised with some crayons next to a white wall. I got away with it by calling it "schoolwork" for as long as I could, and university helped me keep the charade going a while longer. Since my work began to get published, it's made all those long hours repainting the walls seem worth it.
