This is without doubt one of the most fascinating and stunningly rendered couch gags in the history of the Simpsons and you probably shouldnt expect any less considering it comes from the genius mind of Banksy. Known for his anti-capitalist and anti-consumerist street art (amongst many other things), Banksys couch gag is pretty explicit in what it is trying to say and that is that FOX is an exploitative, tyrannical, slave driving multimedia outfit, that produces its content on the broken backs of sweatshop animators. The animators in the sequence live a hellish existence of broken dreams and shattered spirits, and all this sadness is done within the FOX logo and at the behest of NewsCorp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX1iplQQJTo Its hard to imagine many other shows that could get away with such an unsubtle and bold proclamation regarding the very company that keeps it alive. But as weve discussed the Simpsons isnt exactly like most other shows.
