The Simpsons: 15 Huge Guest Stars & Cameos You Forgot
4. Donald Sutherland
It's widely believed that the golden age of The Simpsons ended with season eight, and while the general quality may have dipped, there have still been strong episodes released since. One of the more surprising entries in the season post 1997 was '24 Minutes' in which Kiefer Sutherland came to Springfield as none other than Jack Bauer.
11 years earlier however, Kiefer's father Donald made his way onto The Simpsons as Hollis Hurlbut, the mild mannered curator of the Springfield Historical Society, and Jebediah Springfield fanatic.
Thanks to his blind devotion to the town's founder, when Hollis found proof that his hero was in fact a murderous pirate by the name of Hans Sprungfeld, he hid it to conceal the truth and protect his own reputation.
Though not on the same level as Sutherland's President Snow, this character isn't someone whose bad side you'd want to find yourself on, as he went so far as to ban Homer and Lisa, and their children, and their children's children from the Museum for three months.
