The Sopranos: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best
11. Meadow Soprano
The arc of the elder Soprano child is an underrated piece of the puzzle, a seriously dark piece of storytelling. Meadow starts life as a precocious and ambitious kid who wants nothing to do with the family business and aspires to a career in medicine. By the end, she’s taken the easy way out, switching to law and marrying the son of a Soprano family soldier.
In between, though, there are plenty of moments in which her character is far from the most engaging, particularly around the middle of the series. Her season three dalliances with Noah (one of the most irritating Sopranos characters ever) and the idiotic Jackie Aprile Jr are slow points, and her repeated fallings out and reconciliations with Tony can become tiresome.
The subtle downfall of Meadow Soprano is certainly intriguing and well handled, but it’s hard to imagine that she’s a favourite character of many if any Sopranos fans. With everything else going on, we’re not pining for any more time to be spent on Meadow’s occasionally rocky relationship with Finn.
