The Umbrella Academy: Ranking Every Character Worst To Best

2. Klaus

In almost every other TV show, Klaus would be the stand-out character by some distance. But this is Number 5's world and we're all just living in it.

Still, Robert Sheehan's volatile, vulnerable addict is one of the most densely written characters in the show. His powers are huge but unthinkable (he's basically the Sixth Sense kid with some added bells and whistles he doesn't even know about) and his coping mechanisms - from fatalism to drug issue to flamboyant projection - all make him a wonder to watch.

He's essentially an amalgamation of Sheehan's Misfits character with some Captain Jack Sparrow and Jim Morrison thrown in from the side who goes through the biggest shift in the show (other than Vanya) thanks to his accidental time travelling and his decision to get clean. He steals just about every scene he's in, but not in a way that is uncharitable to his costars and he's just irresistibly watchable from start to finish.
