The Umbrella Academy Season 2: Ranking EVERY Character From Worst To Best

9. Raymond Chestnut

Allison's new husband, Raymond Chestnut could have easily been little more than an obstacle designed to keep her and Luther apart, but in a refreshing turn of events, the writers avoided that trope and turned him into one of the show's most compelling characters. More than that, they used his storyline to highlight something far more important than any trope ever could.

A civil rights activist fighting for real change in a time when very few people would listen, Raymond was admirable from the offset. He was passionate about the fight against racism that he was fighting, he was passionate about the community he was fighting for, and he was passionate about his wife - who he loved very dearly.

Allison and Raymond's storyline was one of the season's two most meaningful and the pair ended up being so good together that this writer found himself reaching for the tissues whenever time would ultimately rip them apart. And it was all capped off by an incredibly endearing and powerful performance from Yusuf Gatewood.
