The Walking Dead: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

1. Daryl Dixon

The Walking Dead
AMC

Appearances: Season 1-11 (148 episodes).

Despite the undeniable greatness of Rick, though, The Walking Dead's best character remains Daryl Dixon, the crossbow-wielding tracker who grows from antagonistic loner to heroic community leader and protector, without losing his wily edge or his naturally distrusting nature.

Daryl's development from hot-headed hunter to Rick's right-hand man and eventual successor is one of the show's finest achievements, making the most of his abusive past and trust issues to craft a character made for the new world, and in time one willing to be a better person because of it.

From his brotherly relationship to Rick to the way he lovingly cares for Judith, R.J and Lydia, to his unrivalled survival instincts and his constant need to avenge and fight for his friends, it's no wonder Daryl Dixon is both The Walking Dead's most prolific and best character.
