The Walking Dead: Every Season 3 Episode Ranked Worst To Best

By far the bleakest episode The Walking Dead has ever aired, Killer Within is also one of the very best, and the crowning achievement of the show's tumultuous third season.

In it, the prison is overrun by walkers courtesy of a villainous Andrew, causing the group to become scattered and forced to fight against a horde they can't control. Worse still, Lori goes into labour during the siege, and T-Dog is devoured attempting to save Carol.

An admittedly tough watch, especially when Lori dies in childbirth and Carl is forced to put to her down before she turns, Killer Within isn't grotesque and harsh for the sake of it, but uses its cruel twists to develop the characters around them for the rest of the season.

It pushes everyone to the breaking point, and only four episodes in makes it clear this season isn't going to pull any punches. Season three peaks here, and serves as a reminder of just how shocking and emotionally powerful the show can be at its finest.
