The Walking Dead: Every Season 6 Episode Ranked Worst To Best
12. Knots Untie
Knots Untie is the episode where the theme of expansion over survival comes into The Walking Dead. Having met Jesus in the previous episode, Rick leads a group to his community, Hilltop, in hopes of making some sort of peaceable trade deal.
Shedding more light on Jesus and introducing the cowardly, aggravating Gregory, the episode is quite a bit slower than it ought to be, but does a decent job of highlighting just how ruthless and even desperate Rick has become. It also works to build up the mystery of the Saviours, with entertaining results.
These high points are held back by an oddly forced love triangle between Abraham, Rosita and Sasha, as well as the rushed internal conflict of Hilltop, but it includes enough drama, narrative set-ups and a poignant enough ending to not be seen as a total misfire.
