The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs From "Hunted"
7. Maggie's Inconsistencies
There's actually a lot to love about Maggie in Hunted. In the previous episode, she made it clear she was a changed woman, no longer willing to take chances and unable to fully put the past behind her, and here she's seen in harrowingly dire straits as she loses most of her friends and finds herself aligned with Negan.
But there are a couple issues that can hard to shake, including her scathing attack on Negan for being "reckless with another person's life." Considering Maggie left Gage to die just last episode, despite the fact she could have quite clearly saved him, this feels both dangerously hypocritical and actually quite frustrating.
Maggie's trying to convince us she knows exactly who she is and what she needs to do, but in this moment shows she's still uncertain of herself, and whilst this is could be a compelling angle, here it just looks like the writer's have forgotten what happened just one episode over.
That being said, it's worth pointing out that Lauren Cohan is still killing it in the role. It's great to have her back.
