The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From "Rendition"

4. UP: Leah Makes A Welcome Return

The Walking Dead
AMC

As mentioned, one of the earliest twists in the episode comes from the reveal that Daryl's missing love interest Leah is a Reaper, and actually serves as the more reasonable second-in-command to Pope.

Leah hasn't been seen since her debut in season ten's Find Me, a messy but compelling episode which has now aged retroactively well thanks to this episode's central drama.

The emotional core of the episode, Leah serves as reminder of the time Daryl nearly left the main group to be with her, and that in her absence he's become a stronger member of the group than ever. To say she's complicated things for the intrepid bowman would be an understatement.

Though a risky character when originally introduced, it's nice to see the show bring her back so soon, and in such a compelling way, especially considering how much depth she adds to both Daryl and the Reapers, and how magnetic Lynn Collins is in the role.
