The Walking Dead Season 6: 7 Reasons That Character Is Still Alive

4. A Date With Lucille

This next entry contains spoilers from the comic, so if you wish to avoid them go ahead and skip to the next page now. Okay now that that€™s out of the way, another reason we€™re not ready to accept Glenn€™s death just yet is because those who€™ve read the source material expect him to die in an even more brutal and heart-wrenching manner. In issue #100 of The Walking Dead, Rick and the gang run afoul of a character named Negan who is the leader of a group called The Saviors. Negan is basically a foul-mouthed version of The Governor minus the twisted sense of morality and roomful of heads in jars, while The Saviors are essentially a group of post-apocalyptic extortionists. In one of the most memorable scenes in the comic series, Rick and company are forced to watch helplessly while Glenn is pummeled to death by Negan with his trademark baseball bat covered in barbed wire that he nicknamed €œLucille€. It€™s a gutpunch of a scene and emphasizes the helplessness they all feel as they€™re unable to stop it from happening. It€™s not known if this will event will occur on the show as it does in the comics, as some characters have been switched out for others in pivotal moments. For example, Tyreese is the one beheaded by The Governor rather than Herschel. But with the showrunners saying that going forward things adhere more closely to the source, it€™s a safe bet Glenn has a date with Lucille in his future.
