8. We're Getting Much More Of Negan And Carl

Negan and Carl form a very odd relationship in the comics, with the baseball bat swinging villain taking something of a shine to Rick Grimes' son. We did get a taste of that in Season 7, with Negan displaying clear respect for Carl, and that's something we're going to get even more of this year. During the panel, Chandler Riggs said:

"Ever since the comics with the Carl and Negan storyline came out, I have been so so excited for the whole storyline between these two. I can't wait to do some of that stuff."

That could well be fascinating to watch, and important for both characters. Carl's often struggled to be an engaging character, so having him get mixed up with Negan adds a bit more interest, while seeing Negan form this bond of-sorts with his enemy's child adds a much needed extra layer to the big bad.
