Top 10 TV Bromances

5. Jax and Opie (Sons of Anarchy)

Having recently come to an end, it's easy to see just how much this partnership worked to keep things in check. Friends since childhood, these two, both sons of founding members of SAMCRO, were destined to follow in their father's footsteps. Jon Teller and Piney, their respective fathers, were idealistic men who believed in the bonds of brotherhood but yearned to take their club in a legitimate direction, away from the staples of what comprises SAMCRO's modern day business: guns, drugs, girls. When Jax first entertained the notion of becoming club President, his goals were pure and honourable €“ he wanted to turn things around in a drastic fashion, saving the club from what he saw as a road to ruin. Opie has always been Jax's wingman, the one member of SAMCRO he could unquestionably rely on to have his back, as well as his moral compass, keeping Jax in check. When Sons of Anarchy recently shocked its entire audience by brutally killing off Opie only three episodes in to it's fifth season, it left little doubt for what it meant for Jax and the future of the club. Opie was afraid he would become Jax, and Jax has certainly become one of his father figures, but that figure is Clay, not Jon Teller. With Opie's death, Jax is now almost entirely emotionally disconnected from his fellow brothers, excepting perhaps a friendship between himself, Chibbs and Bobby, but with Opie now out of the picture, the road to darkness is almost undoubtedly the only one left available to Jax. When not writing Chris spends more time thinking about playing videogames than actually playing them and can usually be found reorganizing his Blu Ray and book collections. He owns four different editions of A Song of Ice and Fire and no, it isn't overkill. He's left the neon haze of Tokyo and Seoul for the more sedate streets of Bournemouth.
