Twin Peaks Season 3: 10 Things That Need To Happen

6. David Bowie

This one might be more of a long shot, but there were those who've spent the better part of two decades insisting that Twin Peaks would never be revived, despite the constant rumours. Those Negative Nancys have since been proven wrong and served up a decent helping of humble pie (not a patch on cherry), so this could easily happen as well? Besides Twin Peaks, one of the most unexpected pop cultural comebacks in recent memory was The Next Day, the long-awaited new album by David Bowie. The rock star chameleon had all but disappeared from the public eye for a good ten years, with rumours of ailing health surrounding a bunch of heart surgeries and basically no new recordings for ages. Then, out of nowhere, a new album was announced in the form a music video and Bowie was back! He didn't do any live performances to support the album or anything, but apparently there's another record coming. Lest we forget, Bowie was supposed to play a pretty big role in the overarching Twin Peaks mythos. He appeared only once, in a scene from the film Fire Walk With Me set before the events of the series, where he played a rogue FBI member who teleports into the Bureau€™s headquarters, something Dale Cooper predicted was going to happen. He saw it in a dream, you see. Reportedly Ziggy Stardust's singularly bizarre cameo appearance as long-lost Agent Phillip Jeffries was supposed to set up later appearances by the character in planned sequels to the film, and there were rumours that the considerable deleted scenes from Fire Walk With Me were to expand on that. The latter turned out to be false but you can't help but wonder what Lynch had planned for the distressed, magical FBI agent who'd already had encounters with BOB, The Man From Another Place and the Red Room gang, and how that tied in with the fate of Agent Dale Cooper. Maybe he'll get a chance to explain?
