WandaVision: 8 HUGE Questions Going Into The Finale

4. Why Did Director Hayward Lie About Vision's Body?

Going into WandaVision, one of the biggest questions revolved around Vision, namely, how is he even alive? He brutally had his forehead caved in by Thanos in Infinity War, yet seemed utterly fine in Westview.

This was seemingly answered midway through the series, as Director Hayward showed his team footage of Wanda breaking into the SWORD facility and stealing Vision's vibranium corpse, apparently with the intention of re-animating him in New Jersey. However, episode eight confirmed that this wasn't what actually happened.

Wanda did go to SWORD looking for Vision's body, but she left and drove to Westview without him. Why then, did Hayward lie about it? Judging by the way he has spoken to Monica about Captain Marvel previously, he appears to potentially have a problem with superheroes in general, so it was perhaps just a ploy to further his narrative that Wanda is the villain. But why was he so desperate to make her out to be the bad guy?

There was something almost manipulative about the way Hayward spoke to Wanda in his office, suggesting that his agenda runs even deeper than anyone currently knows. Lying about Vision's body is one thing, but does the Director of SWORD have any more surprises up his sleeve? What else has he been lying about?
