Watchmen TV Show - 10 Theories From The New Teaser
3. Nite Owl Isn't Dead
In a blink-or-you-miss-it shot, the fireball that goes careening down in front of one of the characters initially appears to pretty strongly resemble the Owlship, an airship that originally belonged to Dan Dreiberg, the second Nite Owl and initial protagonist of the series.
While things certainly don't look great for Nite Owl at the end of either his film or comic version at the end of the original Watchmen, they share one notable feature: he doesn't die.
Although Dan pretends to have died in the attack to change his identity, this doesn't necessarily stop him still trying to do good as Nite Owl, especially in the kind of dire situation that the trailer appears to show America in.
With Adrian Veidt shown as alive, and Dreiberg being roughly six year younger than him, the chance of Nite Owl continue to be a superhero actually seems surprisingly likely.
