Watchmen TV Show - 10 Theories From The New Teaser

2. Ozymandias Has Failed

Watchmen Tv Show
HBO

Proving that if HBO can do one thing well it's casting, Jeremy Irons manages to immediately be recognisable as Adrian Veidt, despite being clad only in underwear and a robe, and being a good twenty-years older than when we last saw the villain on-screen.

Although Ozymandias seems to be doing alright, as he's shown chilling out meditating in a fancy looking room, this doesn't change the fact that Veidt's entire show run is inevitably going to revolve around the fact his plan failed.

With his intentions being to end the conflict between people by giving them greater concerns, the conflict that appears to be the main topic of the new Watchmen series is a sure sign that Veidt's plan failed - much as Dr. Manhattan tells him it will towards the end of the comic itself.

Seeing how Adrian's perfectionist tendencies deal with such a total failure of essentially his life's efforts is sure to make for one of the more interesting parts of the series - even if he isn't the main antagonist of the franchise this time around.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
