Westworld Season 2: 12 Stupid Blunders That Completely Ruined It
2. It Doesn't Fix Most Of Series One's Problems
Westworld season two has been faced with backlash and it's clearly disappointed many viewers. This is an appropriate reaction to the show, but it's hard to see why anyone was surprised; after all, it was already a very flawed program.
Westworld season one was better than season two and did have some great things going for it, but it wasn't quite as perfect that the show's die-hard fans might claim. Just like season two, season one was self-indulgent, somewhat soulless, full of illogical moments and its sole concern was plot twists. As well as this, given how many times (far better) science-fiction stories have told us about man playing god and the like, the show's themes feel incredibly trite.
Westworld season two had a chance to clean things up, but it didn't. The acting of Jimmi Simpson and Simon Quarterman has improved, those awful pair of technicians hanging out with Maeve had reduced screen-time and season two did, to its credit, feel more confident and its convoluted timelines were better handled, but other than that the problems of this season are nothing new.
Make no mistake, it's time to axe Westworld.
