10 Most Anticipated Returns In UFC History
4. Nate Diaz (UFC 241)
Nate Diaz finds his way onto this list as the most recent re-emergence to occur inside the promotion's walls.
Before UFC 241, it's incredible to think that Diaz hadn't been involved in a bout since his second war with Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in 2016 - meaning he'd been inactive for just under three years.
In Diaz's words, the UFC 'were f*cking with (him)'. Meaning that they'd offered him multiple mega-fights, only to take them off the table when the wheels were in motion - Tyron Woodley, Dustin Poirier and Georges St-Pierre were all potential match-ups that never came to fruition.
So, when Diaz decided to genuinely return to the Octagon against Anthony Pettis, fans were still sceptical as to whether it would actually happen.
It did and oh boy, was it worth the wait.
Diaz and Pettis had an old school dog fight that ended with the Stockton native having his arm raised for the victory.
He would go on to call out Jorge Masvidal in his post-fight interview - in typical Nate Diaz fashion - and a Baddest Motherf*cker fight was soon on the way.
That's how you make a comeback.
