5 Moments That Made Ronda Rousey A UFC Legend (And 5 She Wishes We’d Forget)

4. Forget: Not Shaking Miesha Tate’s Hand

Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate had been rivals dating back to their time in Strikeforce. This rivalry was on full display when the two women coached opposite one another on the 18th season of the Ultimate Fighter.

As part of the coaches' challenge, the two competed in a climbing competition. After Rousey emerged the victor, she proceeded to give Tate the middle finger. This was one of several instances on the show in which the former Olympian didn't do her public image any favors. In truth, Rousey came out of the series looking like a bit of a bully.

Following the show, the two women fought for the second time. While Rousey ended up winning the contest, Tate became the first person to last more than a round with the champ in what was a valiant loss.

Following the contest, Tate extended her hand to Rousey, in an effort to finally put the rivalry to bed. In response, Rousey ignored the gesture and walked away.

This display of poor sportsmanship changed how fans viewed the Olympic medalist. In pro wrestling terms, this was the moment Ronda Rousey turned heel and one of the reasons so many celebrated when she was finally beaten by Holly Holm.
