UFC: 10 Embarrassingly Awful Nicknames MMA Fighters Actually Used

1. Jorge “The Naked Man” Ortiz

A lot of fighters get their nicknames based on something they did while training or practicing at the gym. If that's true for Jorge "The Naked Man" Ortiz, then there's probably a very interesting story behind this moniker. Regardless, the idea of competing naked, in most cases, is generally frowned upon in MMA.

Originally, in ancient times, combat sports such as wrestling were contested in the nude. Unfortunately for "The Naked Man," times have changed. These days, fighting in the buff is considered unhygienic and grounds for disqualification in just about every mixed martial arts promotion.

Perhaps, the retired Bellator welterweight is simply a throwback fighter, but more than likely, he's just a guy with a bad nickname.

Put some clothes on, Jorge.
