UFC: 10 Embarrassingly Awful Nicknames MMA Fighters Actually Used

3. Cuki "The Flying Cockroach" Alvarez

Cuki "The Flying Cockroach" Alvarez sounds like an ill-conceived college sports mascot. However, in actuality "The Flying Cockroach" is a retired MMA lightweight who last fought in May of 2010. While he's far from a household name, Alvarez did finish his career with a perfect 4-0 record — albeit while competing in third-tier promotions.

As a general rule of thumb, making the public think about cockroaches in any capacity is a bad idea. Most people would prefer to forget the flying crawlies exist at all. Unfortunately, they do.

His career may have been short, but Cuki Alvarez did manage to come up with one of the most disgusting nicknames in the business.
