UFC 240 Preview And Predictions

5. Marc-Andre Barriault Vs. Krzysztof Jotko

Considering the opener for UFC 239 was the incredibly fun welterweight match-up between Michael Chiesa and Diego Sanchez, Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Krzysztof Jotko feels like a bit of a downgrade. That being said, it's still an interesting middleweight match-up between two decent fighters.

The UFC are having a bit of a revival at middleweight and many felt that Jotko would be one of the new breed, but a three-fight losing streak has put a halt to his title aspirations. However, a recent win against Alen Amedovski showed that the 29-year-old still has the well rounded skill-set that helped him go on a lengthy run at the beginning of his UFC career.

Barriault looked pretty average in his UFC debut. His striking and his takedown defence seemed decent, but he wasn't really able to string anything together. It's clear that he has the tools, but he hasn't found the right way to combine them just yet. While Jotko is far from a world beater, he's still got enough about him to stifle Barriault's game and beat him in every area.
