UFC 240 Preview And Predictions

4. Olivier Aubin - Mercier Vs. Arman Tsarukyan

After destroying longtime UFC veteran Evan Dunham at UFC 223 last April, many expected Olivier Aubin-Mercier to become another force in the lightweight rankings. However, two losses to Alexander Hernandez and Gilbert Burns have slowed his progress up the rankings.

That being said, he's still a very talented fighter and has shown serious improvement since he joined the UFC back in 2014. Primarily a grappler, The Canadian Gangster has slowly but surely got his striking to a level that can give his opponents something to worry about.

Arman Tsarukyan gave UFC fans a pleasant surprise in his UFC debut against Islam Makhachev. The 22-year-old Russian wasn't given much of a chance against his opponent, but looked impressive despite the loss. He's very well-rounded and if he wasn't fighting an opponent of Makhachev's level he could've come away with a victory.

That said, Aubin-Mercier has fought and beaten some good fighters who would be troublesome for Tsarukyan. Plus, his level of grappling and ability to take his opponent down is something he should be able to utilise against Tsarukyan. That should be enough to earn him the victory.
