UFC 244 Predictions

5. Kevin Lee Vs. Gregor Gillespie

Despite being one of the finest prospects in the sport during the early part of his career, it feels like Kevin Lee is going through a bad patch. Currently 2-3 in his last five fights, Lee has looked out of sorts ever since he lost to Tony Ferguson at UFC 216.

After an unsuccessful, one-fight stint at welterweight, The Motown Phenom is back at 155lb and has the incredibly tough task of facing undefeated prospect Gregor Gillespie. You'll be forgiven for not knowing who Gillespie is as he's flown under the radar since he signed with the promotion in 2016. However, many believe that he has the fighting style needed to beat Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The 32-year old from New York has some of the best wrestling in the entire weight class, a gas tank that seems like it's never ending and some incredibly nasty ground and pound. He's a horrible match-up for anyone at lightweight, but Lee is also his toughest fight yet. Not only has he got exceptional wrestling himself, he's also got better striking than anyone he's ever fought.

Although Lee does have the striking advantage, his last loss against Rafael dos Anjos showed that he can be broken. That's the sort of weakness that someone like Gregor Gillespie will try their hardest to take advantage of. It'll be a brutal, back-and-forth battle for both men, but Gillespie should pick up the win.

Gregor Gillespie via unanimous decision.
