UFC Fight Night 147 Predictions

2. Leon Edwards Vs. Gunnar Nelson

The co-main event of the evening has two top welterweights vying for a top five spot in the promotion's rankings. Both fighters looked extremely promising early on in their careers, but seemed to plateau when facing stiffer competition. However, they both entered the UFC at a very young age and despite their brief dips in form, they've matured into talented fighters.

Edwards doesn't have a specific martial art that he favours, but he's still very dangerous in all areas. He's got solid boxing, underrated wrestling and submissions and, most importantly, he's got a very good fight IQ.

After his win against Donald Cerrone at UFC Fight Night 132, 'Rocky' showed how intelligent a fighter he is and he'll need that in this fight. While Nelson has some pretty good striking, he's far more dangerous on the ground and that's where he'll look to take the fight as soon as possible.

Nelson has always shown slickness on the ground and has a knack for being able to take his opponent's back consistently. While Nelson's gameplan is pretty easy to figure out, it's far more difficult stopping him from putting it into play, so it's likely that the man from Iceland should earn the victory.
