10 AEW Full Gear 2020 Impulse Reactions

3. Chris Jericho Vs. MJF

Jon Moxley Eddie Kingson
AEW

One week removed from their explosive Le Dinner Debonair dance, MJF switched the mood from decisive song-and-dance to decisive fire-and-fury when he told Chris Jericho to his face that he would do "anything" in order to win this match and become a fully-fledged member of The Inner Circle.

This was an inspired hook for the match itself - what exactly was this out-front pr*ck set to do to get to where he needed to be?

For the bulk of the contest, the answer was nothing out of the heel ordinary. The two had a very good - but not great - match that was mostly reliant on the fabulous babyface response the former AEW Heavyweight Champion received throughout. MJF's clean win came cheaply - you can do both - when an Eddie Guerrero fake-out distracted Jericho enough for Friedman to roll him up with a handful of tights. It was that he had in his back pocket, rather than the unused Dynamite Diamond Ring.

The high stakes informed all the drama here, but AEW again held off on any sort of twist. MJF got his Inner Circle membership card, Wardlow got one too and the quartet (Jake Hager was also present) left in relative harmony.
