Devoted followers of WWE's developmental arm have had to face up to the fact that NXT matches which don't take place at the quarterly TakeOver shows are often forgotten about just as soon as the final bell sounds.

But the internet wrestling community really shouldn't sit idly by and let that happen in the case of Bobby Roode's 5 July title defence against Roderick Strong, a bout could have easily headlined the following month's Brooklyn showpiece.

The match was fought at dizzying pace, but more than technique it had a brutal, hard-hitting character too. Both men went into it looking like they wanted to kill one another, and put their bodies on the line until the bitter end.

If there's one regret about The Glorious One's stellar run in Orlando it's that he was promoted to the main roster before this promising run alongside Strong could ever quite reach its natural climax. More pressing booking openings unfortunately put paid to that, although we should perhaps keep our eyes peeled for a main roster re-run.
