10 Best Booked Wrestling Babyfaces Of 2020
1. Jon Moxley
What more can be said about Jon Moxley?
His run in AEW has been one of the greatest single runs in the 2000s. Specifically, his run in 2020. At Revolution, Moxley defeated Chris Jericho to become the AEW World Champion and from there he has had great feud after great feud. He began with a programme against Jake Hager, which while not the strongest, was a solid first outing.
After handling The Inner Circle, Moxley then went on to feud with Brodie Lee, and these guys managed to get the best out of each other. The promos leading into the match were great, but the match itself was one of the best on the already stacked Double Or Nothing card. There was passion, aggression and superb storytelling throughout.
Jon then went on to feud with Brian Cage, leading to another tremendous match at Fyter Fest. These two worked really well together and the promos between Moxley and Team Taz really set things up perfectly. After a victory over Cage, he then defended the title against Darby Allin. This match put over both guys brilliantly and Moxley never came across as a heel, despite going up against this super over babyface.
The final quarter of the year saw Moxley defend his title against MJF, Lance Archer and Eddie Kingston, the latter being one of the best pieces of wrestling storytelling all year in ANY promotion. Jon Moxley has accomplished so much in 2020 and it is safe to say that his run as a babyface, fighting champion has been the best in the past 12 months.
