10 Best Old School WWE Cage Matches
9. Steve Austin Vs. Mr. McMahon (St. Valentine's Day Massacre, 1999)
The WWF now most definitely had "Attitude", so the blue bars were painted black, because blue is well-known to be lacking in this department. This match was 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin's long-awaited opportunity to get his nemesis Mr. McMahon alone in a ring with him.
McMahon bled a gusher as Austin brutally beat him around the ringside area before finally taking him into the cage to bounce him off the steel. McMahon also took a nasty fall off the side of the cage and through a table, although he was still able to find the energy to repeatedly give 'Stone Cold' the middle finger to entice him to re-enter the ring several times when he was on the verge of victory.
Again the WWF found a new way to end the match without the predictable climb over the top. The future Big Show, Paul Wight, emerged from under the ring to attack Austin on behalf of McMahon. The Corporation's evil plan backfired, however. Wight threw Austin with such force into the cage that one side swung open and allowed 'Stone Cold' to drop to the floor. Paul Wight, meanwhile, began two decades of being booked in ever more embarrassing ways.
