Labelling a card as a one-match show adds untold pressure on the performers in said encounter, but luckily for a still-red hot WWE, this particular main event had five of the industry's biggest ever stars, and literally the biggest man to take a bump from the ceiling of the Cell.

The perpetual chaos that followed the WWE Title around for much of 2000 had stalled when the ultra-talented Kurt Angle took possession of the strap at October's No Mercy pay-per-view. However, stability came with a caveat. Booked credible despite his comedic side all year, Angle was severely reduced in the shark-infested waters of the company's main event scene at the time.

With the exception of The Rock, every other topliner chewed Kurt up and spat him out en route to failing to take the title from the Olympian. It partially stifled a spectacular and energetic multi-man main event that saw Stone Cold Steve Austin hilariously treat the cage as cheese grater on anybody that came within a right fist of him, Rikishi take a chokeslam from The Undertaker onto the back of a conveniently-placed flatbed truck, and all six men take turns wailing on one another with every available prop after the door was ripped off by Vince McMahon's aforementioned vehicular intervention.

The barbarism almost feels wasted on re-watch, with elements of the match resembling the humour of the hardcore division rather than the bloody hardships of championship endeavour. Angle's cheap win only further sullies the deflating mood.
