10 Best WWE Performers Of 2018 (So Far)

7. Shinsuke Nakamura

Even though they've spent most of the first half of 2018 joint at the hip, Nakamura deserves to place a spot higher than AJ Styles for a couple of reasons.

First, he won the Royal Rumble back in January, an accomplishment which is admittedly less an indicator of personal performance than it is the company's main event options (or lack thereof), but an impressive one all the same.

Second, while The Phenomenal One has remained the same wholesome good guy we all know and love, Nakamura has been tasked with undergoing a dramatic character transformation, replacing his sunny disposition with a darkly sarcastic demeanour. And, so far, it's great.

As for the quality of the matches, again, there aren't any five-star classics in there. They've been good, but a long way off the sort of standard you expect from two of the industry's leading technicians. Let's hope that changes next month at Money in the Bank.
