8. Paige vs. Sasha Banks (July 27)
This year will forever be known as one during which WWE tried something a little different with their female performers. Dubbed a 'female revolution', the Divas division changed when the likes of Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks were called up from NXT to the main roster. The idea was that they would inject some excitement into the women's scene. There were teething problems, namely when WWE rapidly decided to break up Team PCB. As a member of that group, Paige faced a member of Team B.A.D on the July 27 edition of Raw. Sasha Banks had only made her main roster debut a few weeks before, but she was already someone the vast majority of wrestling fans viewed as being true quality. In NXT, she had shone, and there high hopes she'd be allowed to do the same on the top shows. As of the end of 2015, Banks is still waiting for that killer push. However, she was handed a major win when she defeated Paige in July. Better yet, the submission victory came at the end of a very well-received match. Fans in attendance loved what they were seeing, because this was a far cry from the 2-minute, pointless bouts Divas had been given before. It felt like a statement of intent.
