10 Biggest AEW Success Stories (So Far)

3. Darby Allin

Darby Allin's 2020 consisted of banger after banger, and concluded with him as the reigning TNT Champion after usurping Cody Rhodes at the second annual Full Gear pay-per-view. Matches vs. Sammy Guevara, Ricky Starks, PAC, Jon Moxley, and Rhodes himself marked the past twelve months a standout time in Allin's AEW career.

Despite being one of the shorter roster members, Allin doesn't let his stature hold him back in any way. In fact, he uses it to his advantage to fling himself around the ring far easier. Every single Coffin Drop he attempts leaves you wincing, regardless of if he connects or flops. That, in addition to the fact he could literally almost die with some of the spots he's been part of, makes Darby such a unique talent within AEW.

Similar to Eddie Kingston, Darby was known to an extent on the independent circuit as an explosive performer from EVOLVE. However, it's his AEW stint that has exposed him to a far wider audience. AEW has nailed him to a tee.

He's clearly being set up for far bigger things, considering his current association to Sting ever since 'The Icon' arrived at Winter Is Coming. Darby will be the World Champion one day, but as for now? He's doing just fine.
