10 Consistently Annoying Things WWE Does

6. Announcers Joking

Who are the four least funny people in all of television? It€™d be hard to make a definitive list, but Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, Booker T and JBL all at least deserve mention. JBL is the worst of the group, as he brings up outdated references, which somehow causes Michael Cole to laugh his head off. Lawler then chimes in with really forced jokes that feel more suited for a 1950s sitcom. It€™s kind of endearing in a way, but anyone under 20 probably just thinks it€™s really lame. And Booker T seems like he's not paying attention half the time, and loves to laugh at his own jokes. While these jokesters are trying to crack each other up, they€™re also undermining the hard work of the men and women in front of them. Two guys punching each other in the face, and trying to win a match to advance their career is not entertaining enough for the announcers. They have to resort to trying to make each other laugh so they won't get bored. It€™s hard to get invested in matches when the voices of the product sound like they€™d rather be somewhere else. Granted, the announcers (especially JBL) are an extension of Vince McMahon and what he wants to promote, so you can€™t fully blame them. Still, you'd think once in a while they€™d think of something genuinely clever to say.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
